WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
Residents sense it. The caregivers at our homes are personally concerned. They provide services and assistance suited to the needs of each individual, in a manner that promotes dignity, choice and privacy.
Academy Homes residences are referred to officially as “Assisted Living” facilities, a category of eldercare residences recognized in recent years as desirable alternatives to large nursing homes. Our 4 locations, however, also fall into a sub-category called “Residential Care Homes”—normal suburban houses, each transformed into an irresistibly small environment where a small group of seniors and their caregivers quickly become the best of friends.
Those friends converge three times a day around a family-style dining table and, many times a day, in the den for snacks, music and conversation. The comfortable bedrooms are just a few steps away, but the vast majority of residents prefer the company of their friends in the indoor and outdoor common areas.
Beautiful, quiet suburban neighborhoods.
The quiet tree-lined streets of our 4 Metairie neighborhoods enhance the beauty and sense of security to be found inside the homes, a comforting combination which, we believe, significantly eases a senior’s transition when living alone or in impractical circumstances becomes unwise.
THE ACADEMY HOUSES
CARE IS OUR TRADEMARK. REPUTATION IS OUR “MARKETING STRATEGY.”
The Right Homes For Your Loved Ones.
Academy Houses LLC opened its first home in 2007, and almost immediately word-of-mouth became its most successful medium for spreading the word. Inspired by the quantum leap in individual attention and affection found in our “Cottage Concept” houses, families of our first residents told their aunts and cousins and neighbors and friends, leaving us owing those wonderful folks a huge debt of gratitude.
Now, even after hearing descriptions shared by friends and relatives, many seniors and families say they’re stunned when they actually visit. They consider it incredible to find licensed assisted living facilities perfectly disguised as single-family homes, and with interiors that offer the comforts of a family home. The only difference? These “families” are small groups of senior citizens who just wanted to escape the isolation and expense of “home care” without encountering crowded and hectic conditions.
But don’t take anyone else’s word for it. Schedule your own tour today. The 4 homes are all about 5 minutes apart and can be visited in a single excursion.
